Harry & Sons, a longstanding fixture in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland neighborhood, was renowned for its exceptional martinis and sushi. Over time, however, the brand’s growth and customer traffic began to wane. Seizing the opportunity presented by a planned renovation, the ownership collaborated with Bullhearted Branding Studio to undertake a comprehensive rebranding, encompassing strategy, naming, and identity development.

Shifting the brand Strategy
Recognizing that the name “Harry & Sons” resonated primarily with an older demographic, we conducted an in-depth survey of the local community and surrounding areas. The findings indicated that a rebranding could attract a younger market segment. Drawing inspiration from the ocean, we selected the name “Oceanwave” to reflect the brand’s culinary and beverage expertise. This modern interpretation of Asian fusion not only complemented the new interior design but also established a distinctive visual language across all touchpoints, from print to digital.

Restaurant Identity Design
The revitalized identity of Oceanwave was brought to life through various elements, including the logo, color palette, and typography. Inspired by the hues of the ocean and the hamachi (Yellowfin Tuna), we developed a contemporary aesthetic that harmonized with the renovated interior ambiance. The integration of Japanese characters and clever one-liners throughout the design reinforced Oceanwave’s authenticity, setting it apart from other sushi restaurants in the area.

The menu suite was meticulously crafted to reflect the brand’s modern Japanese aesthetic. Utilizing ocean-inspired colors and clean design elements, the menus provided a cohesive and engaging dining experience. The thoughtful incorporation of Japanese characters and descriptions further enhanced the authenticity and appeal of the offerings, enticing both new and returning patrons.
Restaurant FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
The food and drink photography for Oceanwave captures the natural beauty and vibrant appeal of the restaurant’s offerings using soft, directional natural light. From crisp martinis to colorful cocktails, each drink was styled to highlight its clarity, color, and garnish details without artificial gloss. The sushi and Thai dishes were photographed with an emphasis on freshness—showcasing glistening cuts of fish, bright herbs, and the delicate textures of rice and noodles. The result is a clean, elegant visual story that feels both aspirational and authentic, aligning with the elevated yet approachable vibe of the brand.
